The biggest event in the Keys by far is Fantasy Fest, a week-long celebration held in Key West that leads up to Halloween. Parties, parades, costumes, rumrunners and more all culminate into a wild fun-filled time. Make your reservations early for this event as places fill up fast.
Island Sun Splash, which features a week of fun in the sun and water, is held every June on Key Largo. Dives to all the major wrecks around Key Largo, sailing workshops, fishing clinics and all sorts of other dives and snorkel activities make up this event. Participants can expect discounts on everything from dining, lodging and more.
July brings the Annual Hemingway Days festival featuring the world famous "Papa" Hemingway look-a-like contest. And where else but the Keys is there a celebration for the official end of hurricane season? The Pirates in Parade Festival takes over Key West's historic seaport and Fort Zachary Taylor State Park & Beach. Join in the many events for this festival, which spans November and December and includes pirates, pirate ships (of course!), feasting, dancing, exhibits and more.
Many more events occur throughout the year including the Humphrey Bogart Festival, the Florida Keys Jazz and Blues Festival, the Florida Keys Heritage Festival, the annual Seven Mile Bridge Run and other celebrations such as arts festivals, poetry reading festivals, conch shell blowing contests, cardboard boat races – so watch our calendar to keep up on the happenings in the Keys!
